Rob Spotted Meeting Warner Bros Executives

As we posted last night, Rob attended the Arbitrage Luncheon yesterday (pictures here), but it looks like that wasn't the only thing he did that day.

From Eonline:

Following Gere's get-together, Pattinson headed to Soho House, where he was seen having a business lunch with a Warner Bros. exec. to discuss a movie.

Rob meeting studio execs? Nothing new there, but let's hope we'll have more good news about this "meeting" soon.

Kristen will star in 'Focus' with Ben Affleck

From Variety:

After closing in on Ben Affleck, Warner Bros. now looks to have its female lead for the drama "Focus," as Kristen Stewart is in talks to co-star with Affleck in the con artist movie.
"Crazy Stupid Love" helmers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa will direct from a script they wrote. Denise DiNovi will produce the story of a veteran con man who partners with a girl who's new to the grifter life. Movie Plot: A veteran grifter takes a young, attractive woman under his wing, but things get complicated when they become romantically involved.

Warners has been aiming to get this off the ground for a while with the studio eyeballing Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone to reteam with their "Crazy Stupid Love" helmers. When those plans fell through the studio moved quickly grabbing Affleck as he was deciding his next project following "Argo" and now look to have Stewart in their sights.

With "Snow White and the Huntsman" hitting big at the global box office and "The Twilight Saga" franchise coming to an end this month, Stewart had been taking her time before deciding what she would decide to do next.

UPDATE: THR confirms Kristen will star in the film-

The "Breaking Dawn" star will play a grifter in the Warner Bros. film.

Kristen Stewart is getting into Focus.

The actress is in talks to star opposite Ben Affleck in the Warner Bros. con artist film, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.

Stewart will play a young grifter who teams up with Affleck, an experienced vet.

Focus will be directed by Crazy, Stupid, Love helmers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa from a script that they penned. Denise DiNovi will produce.

Stewart is repped by Gersh.

Rob is the New Face of Dior Men's Fragrance

E! News can exclusively reveal that the Twilight star has signed a mega-deal with Christian Dior.

Pattinson will star in a series of ad campaigns for the French fashion house's line of men's fragrances.

"Rob likes the brand," reports a source, who estimates the deal at being worth close to $12 million for three years.

Other celebs who have endorsed Dior fragrances include Jude Law, Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman, who appeared in a controversial topless ad last year.

R.Pattz is no stranger to Dior. He's hit the red carpet in several different Dior Homme looks, including a tuxedo at this year's Cannes Film Festival and jeans at the Teen Choice Awards.

Update From THR (Via):
As a result of the massively successful Twilight Saga films, Robert Pattinson has transformed into a bigger star than he could ever have imagined.

And this week, it was widely reportedly by outlets including E!, The New York Daily News and USA Today that the young actor had landed a whopping $12 million dollar men's fragrance deal with Christian Dior. Gleefully, the press noted that Pattinson's deal had even topped Brad Pitt's reported paltry $7 million for his Chanel No. 5 ads.

But there is no fragrance contract. Not yet, at least.
The Dior international press office in Paris explained to The Hollywood Reporter Wednesday morning that the so-called "reports" were just rumors and that no contract has been signed. They had no further comments.

Calls to Pattinson's camp went unanswered.

New Project! Rob to star in Hold On To Me with Carey Mulligan

From Deadline
As packages firm up for AFM, here’s one that will surely reverberate in Santa Monica. Robert Pattinson is signing on to star with Carey Mulligan in Hold On To Me. The film will be directed by James Marsh, who won an Oscar for the docu Man On Wire and followed with Project Nim.

Pic is based on a true story about a femme fatale who with her boyfriend kidnaps and ransoms the town’s richest man. They bury him in a box and things go horribly awry. Pattinson plays the flashy supporting role of the woman’s life love, Jimmy, who isn’t involved in the crime. The project was scripted by Brad Ingelsby.

Indian Paintbrush’s Steven Rales, Mark Roybal and Michael Pruss are producing with Alexandra Milchan. Also producing is Todd Field, who originally developed the film to direct, but stepped off to helm Creed of Violence for Cross Creek.

Pattinson adds this to an early 2013 schedule that will have him starring opposite Guy Pearce in the David Michod-directed The Rover, and he is also starring in Mission Blacklist, the true story of the U.S. military interrogator responsible for discovering the location of Saddam Hussein in the hunt for the fallen leader. He is repped by WME and 3 Arts.
More info under the cut :)

Rob & Kristen Sighting at the Roosevelt Hotel

“#JustSawTheTwilightCoupleWalkInWithALotOfHipsterFriends haha”

Other sighting came from this guy/girls friend.

He said they were hanging out at the bar (but this does not mean they weren’t staying at the hotel). He wanted to take a picture and sell (what the…!?) it but his cell phone takes crappy pictures and he was on a date. He also said Kristen was smoking an e-cigarette, so she may be trying to quit smoking. This was at theHollywood Roosevelt so maybe they wanted to be seen together?

Rob to play T.E. Lawrence in Werner Herzog's indie "Queen of the Desert"

From Variety

Just days before "Cosmopolis" opens in limited release, star Robert Pattinson has joined the cast of Werner Herzog's indie "Queen of the Desert," which will star Naomi Watts as English writer Gertrude Bell.

Pic will chronicle Bell's life as a writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political attache for the British Empire. One of the first women to graduate from Oxford at the turn of the 20th century, she traveled through the Middle East, defining the borders of Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Pattinson is attached to play T.E. Lawrence, a British Army officer whose writing earned him international fame as Lawrence of Arabia, on whom David Lean's classic 1962 epic is based. Lawrence was a good friend to Bell over the years, as the duo helped establish the Hashemite dynasties in Jordan and Iraq.

Cassian Elwes and Nick Raslan (Herzog's "Rescue Dawn") are producing the pic, which is aiming to start production in late fall.

Outside of the "Twilight" franchise that catapulted him to fame, Pattinson has avoided blockbusters to work on challenging indie projects with acclaimed directors. After wrapping Francis Lawrence's adaptation of "Water for Elephants" and the lusty period pic "Bel Ami," Pattinson chose to work with David Cronenberg on "Cosmopolis," which opens Friday. Thesp is set to star opposite Guy Pearce in David Michod's Aussie drama "The Rover," as well as the indie thriller "Mission: Blacklist," which chronicles the hunt for Saddam Hussein.

Pattinson is repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment, Curtis Brown Group and attorney Robert Offer.

THR adds "A fall shoot in Jordan and England is being eyed"
Robert Pattinson is attached to play Lawrence of Arabia in Queen of the Desert, Werner Herzog’s biopic of Gertrude Bell.

Naomi Watts is starring as Bell described as the female Lawrence of Arabia for the impact the English woman had in the Middle East and her work in establishing what would become the modern framework for Jordan and Iraq. She was an explorer, writer, archeologist and political attache and during World War I, worked for British Intelligence.

Pattinson will play T.E. Lawrence, the archeologist-turned-British Army officer who played key roles in Middle Eastern revolutions in the same time period and became close friends with Bell. Peter O'Toole portrayed the explorer in the 1962 classic.

Herzog wrote the screenplay. Nick Raslan is producing with Cassian Elwes.

A fall shoot in Jordan and England is being eyed.

The move keeps Pattinson firmly in the world of independent film. One of the world’s most recognizable stars, the actor is this week promoting Cosmopolis, his drama directed by David Cronenberg. He is set to star with Guy Pearce in the post-apocalyptic indie The Rover as well as Mission: Blacklist, an indie thriller about Saddam Hussein’s capture.

Kristen Lands Lead in ‘Lie Down in Darkness’

Kristen Stewart may have become tabloid fodder in recent days, but the 22-year-old seems decidedly committed to being taken seriously as an actress: Vulture hears exclusively that Stewart has landed the lead role in an indie adaptation of William Styron’s 1951 novel, Lie Down In Darkness. Directed by Crazy Heart helmer Scott Cooper and set in genteel fifties Virginia, Lie Down will have Stewart play Peyton Loftis. As part of a dysfunctional and disintegrating family, Peyton is constantly compared to her crippled sister, Maudie, and her intense physical beauty makes her the object of her frigid mother’s jealous hatred and the target of her father’s incestuous, alcoholic lust. (Stewart will also appear in another fifties-era film, Walter Salles’s On the Road, when it’s released in the U.S. sometime this fall/winter.)

The part of Peyton had been coveted by Jennifer Lawrence, but Lawrence will spend the better part of the next year shooting sequels. (Catching Fire ignites this fall, while a new X-Men film at Fox commences shooting in January.) Set up at Open Road Films, Darkness has been in development for years by producer Jeff Sharp (You Can Count on MeProof) and while it’s unclear how soon it might start production, this is a major casting hurdle cleared.

UPDATE: from Washington Post
From Kristen’s agent, Ken Kaplan: “While it’s exciting to see all the interest the project is generating, the film is still in the pre-production process and no offers to cast have been made as of yet.”

Stewart’s agent, Ken Kaplan, echoed the sentiments in that statement via e-mail tonight.
“This movie is at a very early stage,” he wrote. “It is unfinanced and while Kristen is ‘attached’ to play the role, there is no guarantee that, if the movie gets made, she will actually do the role. All of the reporting on this is extremely premature.”

ANOTHER NEW PROJECT FOR ROB? 'HATE MAIL'

Photobucket

Via RPLife In an article about the 'Lawless' afterparty in Cannes, they talk about Michael Benaroya of Benaroya Pictures, producer of the movie, and the movie he's financing. There's a Rob mention. Maybe one of Rob's "five projects"?

From The Wrap and Yahoo Movies
Benaroya, who co-produced “Margin Call” last year, is fully financing “Kill Your Darlings,” a $4 million thriller with Daniel Radcliffe and Michael C. Hall about young beat poets Allen Ginsburg and Jack Kerouac and a murder.

And he’s also financing the $11 million “Hate Mail,” with Scarlett Johansson, Robert Pattinson and Philip Seymour Hall. And he executive produced “The Paperboy,” also screening in competition in Cannes.

That's a lot of money to be throwing down. Benaroya, apart from noting that he's only lost money on one movie he's made thus far, said he likes to gamble.

“I’m a serious poker player," he said. "People like to underestimate me: ‘You look 25. You look like a nice guy. I’m gonna take you for everything you’ve got.’ They’re often surprised when they don’t.”

If the info in the article is correct, its probably Philip Seymour Hoffman, not Hall.

Kristen Stewart Spends Low-key Birthday Weekend With Robert Pattinson,Burlesque Dancers and Oldies Music in Hollywood

Kristen Stewart turns 22 today, so it should come as no surprise that she spent her birthday weekend with boyfriend Robert Pattinson. The couple hit up Harvard & Stone on Saturday night, one of their favorite bars in the outskirts of Hollywood. Casually dressed as usual, the couple made a low key entrance and hung together inside.

If Harvard & Stone sounds familiar it should…
The bar is owned by the same people as Pour Vous, the lounge Robert Pattinson was spotted at last week. Gossip sites had a field day because he and Lindsay Lohan were both in attendance at the soft opening of Pour Vous, but as Celebuzz told you Thursday, the outing was “totally innocent” and there was “nothing more to it” than two friends supporting the owners.

See? Last week was no big deal.

Kristen Stewart's 22nd birthday is today, but the Snow White and the Huntsman star, boyfriend Robert Pattinson and 15 of their close friends went ahead and celebrated the occasion Saturday night.

A witness tells E! News the birthday girl and her posse hit up L.A. hipster nightspot Harvard and Stone. "They were having lots of drinks on the top floor of the bar and seemed to be having fun," the onlooker says of the Breaking Dawn duo.

So were Rob and Kristen dressed up for their night on the town?

Nah. "Kristen was wearing a black hoodie, black leather jacket and skinny jeans, while Rob sported an Adidas shirt and a full-grown beard," the observer says. "No one seemed to notice they were there."

The group was even treated to some special entertainment for the birthday celebrations. "The bar had a burlesque show which took place every 30 minutes and they were watching that," the eyewitness adds.

Aside from the scantily clad entertainment, Rob and Kristen were laid-back, opting to chat with their friends rather than dance to the oldies music playing in the Prohibition era-style bar.

"Kristen seemed happy to just catch up with her girlfriends," adds a witness. "She didn't dance at all. Neither did Rob. But their friends were really enjoying the music."

The Twilight couple didn't get too affectionate in front of the other clubgoers, but they did walk out holding hands around 1:30 a.m.

Not a bad way to bring in the big 2-2.
