'Breaking Dawn: Part 2': What We Know About the Final 'Twilight' Film

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may never get back together in the real world. But on November 16, they'll reunite in Breaking Dawn - Part 2. And as that day inches nearer, here's the latest on what we know about the final installment in the hugely successful Twilight film series. MORE INFO UNDER THE CUT

The Story May Surprise You

If you read the novel, you'll be well prepared for Twilight's finale. That said, Breaking Dawn - Part 2 should surprise even those who have memorized every last word of the book. Why? Because the filmmakers changed the ending.

July's Twilight-drenched issue of Entertainment Weekly revealed that Meyer and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg "dreamed up" an alternate ending over dinner one night, and they decided it would be perfect for the movie. We'll call it a good sign that Pattinson was impressed.

"When I first read the script, I got to that part and was like, 'What?' And then I had to go back a page. It does it a serious justice," he told EW.

And here's Stewart's take: "It's clearly made by someone who really cares. That's why Bill Condon is perfect. Thank God for him."

The revamped ending is sure to pique the curiosity of the book's fans. For those who haven't read it, [BOOK SPOILER ALERT] the original ending has been criticized for being anticlimactic. It brings four warring factions together in one place only to have Bella ultimately defuse the entire situation with communication, not Vampire fighting. [END SPOILER]

The Trailer Promises Intense Drama

Pattinson, Lautner, and other members of the cast not named Stewart took to the stage at the 2012 MTV VMAs to present the highly anticipated Breaking Dawn trailer. Though it's only a minute and half long, it offers a fantastic look at what we can expect in the final installment of the vampire film series. This includes: waterfall jumping, panther killing, and a gripping fight sequence that looks like a snowball fight gone bad, real bad.

Getting Tickets Should Be Easy

Deadline reported Thursday that Fandango and MovieTickets.com will begin selling tickets to the final Twilight film a full six weeks before it hits theaters. This gives you plenty of time to get your tickets and then pick out the perfect outfit to wear at the midnight showing. Twihards wanting to go all out can buy tickets to the November 15 "Twilight Marathon" — a screening of all five vampire flicks. All tickets go on sale October 1.

What's Next?

Don't get too excited now, but according to Pattinson, a Twilight TV series could be headed our way in the future. He said as much in a recent article that ran in Mexico's Journal of Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua

"I'm sure that soon they will make a TV series based on Twilight," he told the paper (ourGuatemalan design director was gracious enough to translate the Spanish text).

Given the current success of the CW's Vampire Diaries and HBO's True Blood, bringingTwilight to TV seems like a no brainer.
